Closing ceremony of the 50th anniversary celebration

This November 30, the College of Architects of Catalonia was the scene of a significant event that marked the closing of the events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Certis Group. In a space closely related to the group’s activity, the event began with the presentation of the commemorative book that captures the essence of the company’s fifty years of history in three distinct parts: the first, entitled “The foundations of a culture”, captures the beginnings of Ramón Blázquez’s business adventure when, with just over 20 years of age, he established, together with his family, the foundations of a professional career forged on the basis of effort. Under the title “The construction of Certis”, the second part covers the creation of the company, its growth and its consolidation until reaching its current position. Finally, the third major chapter of the book, “Living together: La mirada externa”, is made up of interviews with 19 professionals from the world of construction who have collaborated with Certis on different works and who share their professional experiences and the relationship with the group.

The presentation of the book was carried out by Ramón Blázquez himself, founder of Certis, who welcomed the attendees and thanked the contribution of the “19 professionals who have honored us with their knowledge in the interviews of the book and their words that motivate us to continue improving and contributing everything we can to the improvement of what has been and will be our reason for being as entrepreneurs: our commitment to excellence in construction.”

During their 50 years of business life, they have witnessed the transformation processes of a society, in the words of Blázquez, “hungry for improvements and changes. We have modestly contributed to this progress by participating in numerous water supply projects , urban sanitation, street development, construction of schools, institutes, university and hospital buildings, logistics warehouses, sports centers, housing… We feel fortunate to have collaborated in this progress.”

In his opening speech, Ramón Blázquez wanted to recognize the work of the Certis staff, whose “talent, professionalism, dedication and effort contribute to this company continuing to grow and reaching new horizons”, now under the direction of Iván Blazquez

In the same way, the founder of the company had a memory of gratitude for his customers and technical team, architects and construction managers, suppliers and also for the financial institutions with which Certis has worked all this time. Certainly, Ramón Blázquez remembered his colleagues as “sometimes competitors and other times partners, from whom we have always learned by example, and from all those who, in one way or another, have contributed to weaving the threads of our 50-year history.”

After the words of the founder of Certis, the event continued with the conference “The Challenges of Construction for the Next 50 Years,” presented by Ignasi Pérez Arnal, architect and director of the REBUILD Congress, one of the essential meeting points for companies in the construction sector in Spain.

In addition to commemorating the company’s 50 years, the event held at COAC allowed the leaders of the Certis group to introduce the companies: Actia Desenvolupament and DIIP AI. Regarding the first company, focused on industrialization in construction through the application of wood, Felipe Vieites spoke, while DIIP AI, which works on artificial intelligence solutions applied to the construction sector, was presented by its co-founders, David Santana and José Solá.

The event, which concluded with a cocktail prepared by Chef Nando Jubany, provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey of the company, its successes and challenges overcome, and its relationship with clients, employees, and the community. Iván Blázquez, the current head of the Certis group, explained that the company has kept alive since its beginnings a future project that “has preserved values such as excellence, loyalty, commitment, and innovation in all its projects. And this same philosophy will be maintained in the coming years,” he concluded.
